Introduction
We created an indexable page that can’t be discovered as it has no backlinks or other way for Google to find it.

Then we sent this link between 2 addresses through Gmail to see if the links get crawled by monitoring the server access log.
- Check Googlebot activity when mail sent and open with external domains and Gmail domain
- Check Googlebot activity after a few weeks/months in case it was put in the discovery queue
Results
- No Googlebot log activity when the mail is sent or open
- Still no sign of any Googlebot activity on the URL after 1 week
Conclusion
Gmail links doesn’t seem to be crawled nor indexed by Googlebot.
